Oil Firms in Nigeria Increase Prices of Lubricants

These are indees tough times for the middle and low income earnera in Nigeria. From Bread to Rice, Transportation to Cooking Gas, prices are hitting the roof top.

And now the cost of lubricants - regular and synthetic - have skyrocketed by over 70% in the last nine months.

The rise in the cost of engine oil in Nigeria has been attributed to the scarcity of base oil in the global market, which is a major raw material in the production of lubricants.

The implication is that you will need to spend more now each time you visit the mechanic to service you car, tricycle, motor bike or electricity generator, it doesn't matter if you're running a diesel or petrol engine.
