Former governor Orji Uzor Kalu, Senator representing Abia North, distributed about 400 motorcycles, 150 generators, and other empowerment kits to people of the district.
Kalu, who's the Senate chief whip, while distributing the items to the beneficiaries in Umunneochi local government area of Abia State, noted that the gesture was part of efforts to fulfill his campaign promises of providing an improved living standard to the people.
He said additional items will be distributed specifically to other constituents that didn’t benefit, adding that he has concluded plans to also rebuild Aro Ikpa road in the next few months.
According Kalu, the idea behind the empowerment was to support the mobility of the youths and give them motivations in their farming activities.
