According to the dictates of nature, women are known to be the gender that has the ability to concieve and give birth. However, scientists have discovered a medical method of making men give birth as well, especially through gender reassignment surgery.
Health and details of the three men in focus who succeeded in conceiving and giving birth include the following:
(1) Kayden Coleman
He was born a female but decided to be a transgender person. He was at that point, a decade into gender reassignment therapy, when he stopped taking hormones for six weeks to undergo a double mastectomy as advised by his doctor. Kayden was stunned with a bloated tummy and back pain in 2013. At first, he even joked he should get a pregnancy test when he was hit with the pain. In accordance with his partner, he went for a pregnancy test and it came positive. He gave birth to a daughter, Azaelia, in 2014.
Last January, he discovered he was pregnant again, expecting a second child with his boyfriend, Dominique.
(2) Thomas Beatie:
Thomas Beatie was born a female and underwent a double-mastectomy but retained female reproductive organs. He said he kept his female sex organs in the hope of one day welcoming a child. After meeting Nancy, Beatie and his then-wife decided that he should carry the child, since she was unable due to a prior hysterectomy. He gave birth to his first daughter, Susan, through artificial insemination using donor sperm and his own eggs. Beatie is now a father of four.
(3) Freddy McConnell:
He was born as a female but decided to become transgender. He began his medical transition in his 20s. He was told the testosterone he was taking would make carrying a child impossible. He briefly considered having a child before starting the transition but decided against it because he wasn’t yet at a stable point in his career.
Due to his wish to become a parent, he once thought of adopting a child. Luckily for him, he came across a YouTube video of a transgender man discussing his pregnancy. Freddy believed that this was the best option for him. Today, McConnell’s kid is two and a half. And he’s continuing to fight a legal battle to have his child’s birth certificate changed to identify McConnell as the father instead of the mother.
