Some powerful politcians in the North believe that a man who can only have one term in office from the South is the one they should support in 2023, so that power immediately returns to the North after four years.
President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday received his immediate predecessor in office, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, in his office at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
The former president came into the premises at about 4 pm.
It was not clear why he visited President Buhari as he did not speak to the media afterward, but sources say the private meeting may not be unconnected to the considerations for 2023.
